Peter Kilby

FCIOB | Managing Director, Emplir Group & Emplir BVI

Director-level construction and property professional with over 30 years' experience, including two successful management buy-outs (from Jarvis plc and the Montpellier Group). Peter has delivered projects across Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean, spanning retail, hotels, listed buildings, high-end residential, museums, leisure, commercial offices and airports — from complex refurbishments and fit-outs to new-build schemes.

His expertise covers main contracting, project and cost management, construction management and management contracting, underpinned by an original joinery background and experience overseeing two large UK joinery manufacturing units, together with an extensive global network of client, consultant and supply-chain contacts.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Managing Director, Emplir Group & Emplir BVI (2025–present) — leading property development and the group's architecture, design, project and cost consultancy practice.
  • Main Board Director, rpa:group (2020–2025) — led business development and oversaw project management and cost consultancy teams across hotels, hospitality, retail, museums, leisure, offices and airports.
  • Managing Director, Garenne Interiors & Refurbishment (2016–2019) — grew turnover from a small base to a profitable £20m within two years; delivered The Hoxton Hotel, Holborn and Wentworth Golf Clubhouse.
  • Divisional Managing Director, ISG plc (2010–2016) — formed and led the Hotels, Hospitality and Aviation division, delivering projects from £1m to £40m, including the Conrad Hotel London and the Kempinski Hotel, Dubai.
  • CEO, Cornhill Construction Group / MD, Jarvis Newman — built Cornhill to c.£55m turnover and Jarvis Newman to £60m turnover, completing two successful management buy-outs.
